Ruth Singer Included in the 2016 Florida Super Lawyers List of Rising Stars

Ms. Singer was recently named to the 2016 Super Lawyers Rising Stars list by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine.

The Super Lawyers designation, conferred upon the most respected legal practitioners in the state, is based upon peer recognition and professional achievement. No more than five percent of the lawyers in each state are selected by the research team to receive this honor. Rising Stars are those up-and-coming attorneys who are 40 years of age or younger and have practiced law for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team to receive this honor.

Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys. The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazines and in leading city and regional magazines and newspapers across the country. Super Lawyers Magazines also feature editorial profiles of attorneys who embody excellence in the practice of law. For more information about Super Lawyers, visit

Judging Mock Trial

Addressing objections at the FAMU Mock Trial

Ruth Singer - Mock Trial

Listening to students during the FAMU Mock Trial

I was recently invited by Professor James W. Smith, III to serve as a judge for the Mock Trial final exam at FAMU.  The students had clearly worked very hard preparing their cases, and did a wonderful job.  They also had the opportunity to receive feedback from other attorneys and members of the community, who volunteered their time to serve as jurors.  It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed the opportunity to give back to both the school and the professor who gave me so much.
